Colt Pocket Positive .32 - Collector's Information - Colt Pocket Positive Factory Nickel and Flush Medallion Mother of Pearl Grips, .32  Police Cartridge, Serial Number 70124, Factory Display Board Cutaway (ca. 1914)

Colt Pocket Positive .32 Police Ctg. Serial Number 70124 (ca. 1914) - Factory Display Cutaway, cutaway on right side of gun and pinned to render the action non-functional.  Later Colt recessed medallion mother of pearl grips which presumably were updated for use on a later display.

Right side of pistol showing unique attachment of left grip, cutaway cylinder and milled opening in barrel.  Revolver also has the number "8" on the frame to the lower rear of the cylinder.  Pin to hold the trigger in place is also visible from this view.  Larger hole above the grip area and hole at the top front of the trigger guard are both threaded to receive a screw for mounting on a Colt Factory Display Board.

The Colt Historian researched this revolver and was able to determine that although they could not find any information on this revolver in the shipping records, there are some interesting notations in the Production records that seem to support the present configuration of this piece.  The first notation indicates that this serial number was "Condemned March 21, 1914."  Then there is a second handwritten notation that states "Tansley for exhibition", the date April 10, 1914 and a Job # 5279.  The third notation states that this serial number was "Scrapped on March 23, 1942."
