Colt Model 1911A1 .45 ACP serial number 754872 (ca. 1941) with matching numbered slide, WB inspector's mark on left side of the frame and RS inspector's on the top of the frame near the disconnector. Pistol is one of the earliest known WB inspected variations.

Colt Model 1911A1 .45 ACP serial number 754872 (ca. 1941) - Close-up of WB inspector's mark below slide stop hole.  The initials of WB inside a Box for Colonel Waldemar S. Broberg, Hartford/Springfield Ordnance District, Army Inspector of Ordnance: July 1, 1941 - June 16, 1942, signifying government acceptance of the pistol. There is a P proof on the top of the slide, in front of the rear sight and alto a P on the left side of the frame near the magazine release button.

Colt Model 1911A1 .45 ACP serial number 754872 (ca. 1941) - The initials RS inside a Box for Colonel Robert Sears are also stamped on the top of the receiver near the disconnector hole to indicate provisional inspection.
